Dont Judge by Style Stamp

First stamp! Donno if I'll make more or not *shrug* It's not amazing, but I made it to illustrate a point, so to speak.

Let me explain! This actually has a few meanings.

THE INFO ABOUT ME DRAWING IN SONIC STYLE IS NO LONGER TRUE, BUT THIS IS STILL AN IMPORTANT POINT.

I draw Sonic style. Well...technically speaking...I draw faces in Sonic style. My bodies are a bit more realistic than typical Mobian bodies. Having said that, my characters are not related to the Sonic fandom in any way; they have their own worlds that I have been making from scratch. I have to keep explaining that to people, I feel. ALL THE TIME. People just look at the picture, not the story behind the picture, and just assume all sorts of things.

"Oh but Lady; why don't you just draw in a different, more original style? Then there won't be any confusion!"

Well DUH. But here are the reasons I haven't done that:

-I've always drawn Sonic style, so it's familiar and nostalgic for me.  I used to be such a fan...but I'm more a fan of the original.

-My passion is the story behind the character more than the drawing of them. I love to draw, don't get me wrong...but I'm a writer first and an artist second.

-I actually HAVE been trying to expand my style into a more anthro look, and even straight human, but I've not posted much of those experiments...I will when I get one to come out acceptably.

-THIS STYLE IS FUN! Why should I abandon drawing in a way that gives me hours of enjoyment?

So I made this to sum that up as well as (hopefully) clear that up. If not...meh. I tried.

I should probably also state that, at least in Sovereign Saga, the characters will most likely all be human, not anthro. But I haven't decided...plus I adore drawing tails and big ears and wings and all that good stuff...so I draw them anthro. x3

The OTHER reason I wanted to make this stamp is because of those narrowminded souls who don't believe Fan art can be original. People who see ANY character drawn in a familiar, commercialized style and instantly thinks 'Aw geeze another of THAT. They're all the same!'. 

Here are my views on that little gem:

-ALL art is creative, as long as the idea for it was born of your mind, and you didn't steal another's art or character. I mean...that last part should go without saying, but you never know, right?

-At least in my opinion; Fan Characters ARE Original Characters in most aspects. I know it's not a popular opinion, but it's mine. I believe any idea that comes from your creative soul is yours, even if they're designed to be in a preexisting world. In other words; all Fan Characters are Original Characters, but (obviously) not all Original Characters are Fan Characters. Of course if you disagree with that, that's fine, too. The great thing about humans is that they all see things differently.

So...that's my stamp. *Shrug* The end.
